Basic
A lightweight task board with only the essentials.
Basic is the lightest project type in Skopo. It gives you a board, a backlog, and two item types — tasks and bugs — with no rituals, no portfolio layer, and no flow metrics. Use it when you need to track work without committing to a methodology.
What it's for
Basic works well for small projects, personal work, or teams that are just getting started and want to track tasks without any process overhead. It is also a useful starting point if you are not yet sure which methodology fits your team — you can migrate to a richer methodology later through Project Settings without losing any of your work items.
What you get
Work item types: Task and Bug. Tasks are discrete pieces of work; bugs are defects to correct.
Board columns: Backlog, To Do, In Review, and Done. There is no In Progress column — the board is intentionally minimal.
Dashboard: Shows completed work, active work, blocked items, and overall task progress.
No rituals, no portfolio, no flow metrics. Basic does not include rituals, artifact tracking, or health signals beyond the dashboard KPIs.
Optional practices: Basic does not include any optional practices. If you need TDD, pair programming, or WIP limits, migrate the project to a methodology that supports them.
