Collaboration

How Skopo models comments, mentions, watchers, notifications, and digests.

Skopo uses a single shared collaboration model across all record types that benefit from discussion. Comments, @mentions, watch preferences, instant notifications, and digest controls work the same way whether you are discussing a work item, a risk, a decision, a dependency, an artifact, or a ritual summary.

Comments and @mentions

You can add a comment to any record that supports collaboration — work items, risks, decisions, and dependencies, artifacts, and ritual summaries. Comments support rich text.

To draw someone's attention to a comment, type @ followed by their name or username. @mentions send an instant notification to the mentioned person (subject to their notification preferences) and add them as a watcher on the record if they are not already watching it.

Watchers and notifications

Watching a record means you receive notifications when the record changes. You are automatically added as a watcher when you:

  • create a record;
  • are mentioned in a comment on the record;
  • are assigned to the record as owner or assignee.

You can also manually watch or unwatch any record you have access to. Notifications respect project and organisation access: you will not receive notifications for records in projects you do not belong to.

Instant notifications appear in the Notifications panel in the top bar and, depending on your settings, may also be delivered by other channels.

Digests

In addition to instant notifications, Skopo supports daily digest delivery. The digest setting lets you choose between a once-a-day summary of activity across your watched records, instant notifications only, or turning notifications off entirely.

Digest and notification controls are stored per-record, so you can set fine-grained preferences: receive instant notifications for a critical risk but only a daily digest for a lower-priority artifact.
