Invite agents

Hire agent profiles, configure permissions and budgets, set approval policies, and review agent activity in Skopo.

Skopo lets you add AI agent profiles to your project team. These profiles represent AI teammates in your workflow — capturing their roles, tool permissions, budgets, and approval requirements. Agents in Skopo do not execute work autonomously; execution is not connected. Agent profiles are a governance and planning layer: they record who would do what, under what constraints, and require human approval before any assignment proceeds.

Before you start

  • To hire agents or change agent controls, you need a Lead or Owner project role.
  • All project members can view agent profiles on the Team page.
  • The Agent marketplace is only visible to users with team management permissions.

Steps

Hire an agent from the marketplace

  1. Open your project and click Team in the project sidebar.
  2. Click Hire an agent in the top-right area, or click the Agent marketplace tab.
  3. Use the search box (Search skills or roles…) and the role filter dropdown to narrow the catalog.
  4. Each agent card shows the agent's name, role, a summary, skill tags, and a Hire agent button.
  5. Click Hire agent on the card you want. The agent profile is added to your project team with a default allocation of 50%.

Re-use an existing workspace agent

  1. If your workspace already has agent profiles defined for other projects, a section labelled Available from your organization appears above the catalog. Click Add [Agent name] to add that profile to this project without creating a new one.

Configure agent controls

  1. Go to the Project team tab and click the Manage button (chevron) next to an agent row to open the manage modal. The subtitle reads "Set capacity and guardrails. Execution remains disconnected."
  2. Set Operating status: Available, Paused, or Unavailable.
  3. Set the Approval policy:
    • Always require approval — every assignment requires a human to approve before it is treated as active.
    • Risk-based approval — approval required only for higher-risk assignments.
    • Manual assignment only — the agent is only assigned explicitly by a human.
    • No approval gate — assignments proceed without a separate approval step.
  4. Set the Monthly budget (a numeric field representing a spending cap).
  5. Toggle Permissions: Read code, Write code, Manage issues, Run tests, Approve releases.
  6. Toggle Allowed tools: GitHub, CI, Browser, Terminal.
  7. Adjust the Allocation on this project slider.
  8. Click Save controls to apply.

Review the agent audit trail

  1. Click the Agent audit tab to see a chronological log of changes: who hired the agent, who changed permissions, status changes, allocation updates, and budget edits. Each entry shows the event type, the agent affected, and a timestamp.

Manage the agent workload queue

  1. Click the Agent workload tab to see assignments that have been manually linked to agent profiles. For each assignment you can:
    • Change the State (Queued, Working, Blocked, Review, Completed, Cancelled) using the dropdown.
    • Click Approve to grant approval on a pending assignment.
    • Click Review to move an active assignment into a review state.
    • Click Complete to mark a reviewed assignment as done.

Result

Agent profiles are set up on your project with defined roles, tool permissions, budget caps, and approval policies. Human teammates can assign work to agents and review all activity in the audit trail. No work is executed automatically — all agent activity requires explicit human review and approval.
