Workspaces and projects

Understand how workspaces, projects, members, and roles are organised in Skopo.

Workspaces

A workspace is the top-level container for your organisation or team. Everything in Skopo — projects, members, templates, and settings — belongs to a workspace.

When you first sign in, you either join an existing workspace via an invitation or create a new one. The workspace home page shows all projects you have access to, as well as workspace-level settings and members.

Each workspace has one owner. The owner can manage billing, add or remove members, and control access to projects.

Projects

A project is the working environment for a single team or initiative. Each project has:

  • one delivery methodology that determines its work-item types, board views, workflow states, rituals, and metrics;
  • a set of members with individual roles;
  • its own backlog, board, rituals, delivery records, and insights.

You create projects from the workspace home page. A project wizard guides you through naming the project and choosing a methodology. Once created, the project's sidebar shows only the views relevant to that methodology.

Members and roles

Workspace members and their project roles control what each person can see and do.

  • Owner — full control over the workspace, including member management and governance.
  • Member — can view and contribute to projects they are assigned to.

When you invite someone from the Members page, you set their role to either Owner or Member. Members only see projects they have been explicitly added to.

Switching projects

To move between projects, use the project switcher in the sidebar or navigate to the workspace home page and select a different project. Your position within a project (which view you had open) is not preserved when you switch.
